California LOVES fraudsters. Gives them $10,000 apiece

2010 May 01 post from reamworks

California, which claims to be broke, is giving a $10,000 check to anyone who wants it.

These programs are overrun with fraud. The Federal version of this program had an astonishing 50% fraud rate

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703574604574501253942115922.html   (about the fraud)
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=126010317 (quote from IRS that admitted that 50% of people claiming the deduction had "problems" with the claim)

So why does California institute its own version of this? Do they think the fraud rate will be any lower?

It makes me want to vomit.
