Oops! Tennessee State Senator's staffer emails "joke" photo to all constituents

2009 June 16 post from road

Via Popehat . (I'm also a fan!):

Sherri Goforth, staffer to Tennessee Republican state senator Diane Black, sent around a picture showing miniature portraits of the nation’s presidents, with the last spot occupied by two big eyes peering out of the dark. Ha ha! Because black people don’t show up on camera because they are so black! Even if it’s a painting! It’s a knee-slapper! Caught out, Sherri Goforth confessed, and attempted to recoup some points by executing an Olympic-quality I’m-sorry-you-found-out-I’m-an-asshole non-apology apology :

When I asked her if she understood the controversial nature of the photo, Goforth would only say she felt very bad about accidentally sending it to the wrong list. When I gave her a second chance to address the controversial nature of the email, she again repeated that she only felt bad about sending it to the wrong list of people.

“I went on the wrong email and I inadvertently hit the wrong button,” Goforth told NIT. “I’m very sick about it, and it’s one of those things I can’t change or take back.”

Ok! I know you're dying to see the photo! Here it is!

The photo was this:

I think I'd prefer my State Senator (CA Democrat Elaine Alquist) send me emails like this, instead of emails about how she wants to spend more of my money!

I apologize on behalf of the idiots in my state... is that what politics has devolved to? Really? We worship statists like Lincoln and FDR who attempted to destroy the Constitution, but we have to pick on Obama for being PARTIALLY black? Seriously? Let's throw BHO under the bus for being a commie, who cares what color the man is... I'm sure he speaks better english than the knuckle-dragging redneck who sent this email. On a related note, I had my lawyer contact a state agency on my behalf a few weeks ago and the state representative commented to my lawyer that 'Mexicans are always in legal trouble'... NICE... I'm Italian with an adopted last name... class act racists here in TN.

So you don't disagree that "Mexicans are always in legal trouble?"

LOL... well, THIS Mexican is... but by name only! I can't claim to speak for all Mexicans, but I would assume so, yes, based on the response. ;-)
