Meg "Ebay" Whitman on Why She Voted for Prop 8

2009 July 16 post from swirsky

According to the SF Chronicle :

Whitman, who had described herself earlier as objective, admitted she had voted for Prop. 8. She said that decision had to do with both her religion - Catholic - and her emotions.

Personally, I'd rather not let an emotional woman, as in the literal meaning of "hysterical", be my leader. Especially Catholics who like to eat flesh and worship Idols. That's just bat-shit crazy if you ask me.

She should stick to something she knows about, like providing the world's largest market for counterfeit and stolen goods.

Any representative who openly admits to making legal decisions governing other peoples lives based on their OWN religious or emotional issues should be disqualified from doing the peoples business in my opinion. No good can come from making law based on personal religious beliefs or emotional hang-ups. There is only what people are constitutionally empowered to do and other acts which may infringe on the rights of others. It is a real stretch of logic to think that 2 strangers marrying is somehow violating someones constitutional rights. But this is what we get when we think that people who believe being a 'latina woman' makes you more wise to be a judge. I'd swear we are regressing in regards to the rule of law...not progressing as a society.

They should have followed up that question with: "Tell me again why you bought Skype?"
