Do 10% of Americans REALLY need government help to eat?

New numbers released show that 1 in 10 Americans gets 'assistance' to buy food.  Haven't we been waging a 'war against poverty' in this country for decades?

Like most American-made wars, when it looks like the battle could possibly be won, you simply create more victims...or terrorists as the case may be.  The American 'poor' do better than the 3rd worlds rich.

You also realize that if every American lost 10 pounds, we'd save a ton of energy! (Think of all that extra weight we have to drive around.) So there are hidden costs to this.
